Sound Beginnings is your single source of connection to trusted breastfeeding and parenting professionals in the greater Seattle area.
Our group grew out of the private practice of Joy MacTavish, MA, IBCLC, RLC, ICCE.
Joy became a birth and postpartum doula in 2007. As her career evolved, she went on to become a certified childbirth educator, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a certified babywearing educator, and a Listening Mothers group facilitator. Over the years her client base grew and their needs became more clear. So, in 2016 Joy expanded to bring in other skilled professionals to support new families.
Early 2019 Availability
Sound Beginnings prides itself on supporting the work-life balance of our team members. Joy MacTavish, IBCLC will be on maternity leave from early February until late April 2019. At that time she will have availability for consultations in the Sound Beginnings office (located in Shoreline), where she will often have her baby in tow. She will also have limited availability for in-home consultations which will typically be held during evenings and weekends and reserved for families who have newborns and/or are recovering from birth. Phone consultations will continue be available and we appreciate your understanding for baby noises in the background.
