Joy MacTavish, IBCLC and Sound Beginnings
Trusted lactation and parenting support in the greater Seattle area, and online for new parents anywhere.
Hi, I’m Joy MacTavish, MA, IBCLC, RLC.
Sound Beginnings is my private practice and the culmination of over 13 years of training and experience.
My professional work with families began over a decade ago as birth and postpartum doula and then childbirth educator. As my career evolved, I went on to become a certified childbirth educator, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), certified babywearing educator, Listening Mothers group facilitator, Certified Go Diaper Free Consultant/Coach for elimination communication and potty training, and Sleep Savvy method certified infant and toddler sleep consultant.
I consider myself a lifelong learner and spend an average of 20 hours a month on continuing education to be able to better serve my clients. My goal is to always bring compassion and active listening to my work with each new family. I recognize that each family is unique so I bring my expertise to the table and then craft an individualized plan to address your needs and goals.
When I’m not working with new families, I’m homeschooling my big kid or chasing my toddler. For more about me, please check out this Sound Beginnings blog post.
